- You might not be far from the truth, while reading the latest Amiga Format,
- April edition, it seems that Sega could be planning to use the PPC chips
- instead of the current Hitachi RISC chips for their Saturn consoles, which
- means developers can use the Amiga PPC!
- And if Sega strike a deal with Mutsushita, hopefully M2 aswell!
-
- Plus all existing Amiga games developers will be able to write games for
- Sega's new machine, and any other computer/console with a PPC processor.
-
- From AF:
-
- "RJ Mical is on record saying he wishes he could employ all of the Amiga
- coders and sceners still active on the scene; admiring their "wild eyed,
- wild haired, enthusiasm for the Amiga" and its related wares.
- That PowerPC driven hardware could help affect a power shift away from
- hardware manufacturers and proprietary Operating System developers is
- beyond doubt. That such a shift could revolutionise development practice
- and costs is the most exciting consequence of this potiental."
-
- Hope for the future.
